The iPad
Did you feel that breeze that swept across the country right around 1:30pm EST? That was the collective sigh of relief from the millions of people who were considering a net book realizing that their options do not have to be so depressing.
So yes I watched the event on both Engadget and Gizmodo at the same time and streamed the video from TWIT. Does that make me an Apple fanboy? Probably by...

Sell the Honda Accord
We finally did it. I listed the car at the beginning of the month on Craigslist and on Sunday I exchanged a bill of sale for enough cash to pay off the rest of our car loan and get this replacement car that you see in the picture.
I will not recount the entire story here. I think it is enough to say that the Indian (dot not feather) couple that bought it from us got a great car that we loved...

The Beatles :: Abbey Road
I have pretty much always liked this album. More specifically I have always really liked the second half from You Never Give Me Your Money on through The End. What can really be said about an album that is so iconic that its album cover is an icon? Not a whole lot. If you want to know more about what I think, I wrote this whole post a while ago about how this album is my all time favorite.

The Beatles :: Revolver
I have been listening to this album for a long long time. There are a bunch of favorites for me on this disc and so it is hard to sum up a short review. I have always like Eleanor Rigby simply because there are no regular band instruments and I think that is cool. Here, There and Everywhere is a favorite because I learned to play it myself on the piano back when I used to do that. Good Day...

The Beatles :: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club...
This is one of my favorite albums ever. When most of the album is in your favorites list as individual tracks listening to the album straight through is just going to be great. I have always loved the reprise of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band better than the intro version. Notable other favorites are When I’m 64, Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite, Good Morning Good Morning...

Mott the Hoople :: All the Young Dudes
Well it was bound to happen. I got to listen to an album that I had never heard all the way through AND I did not like it at all. There was one halfway decent song Ready for Love/After Lights, and Sea Diver almost tricked me into liking it just for the piano, but really I think I only liked it because everything else was getting a two star rating. I really do not know what to say about this...

Bob Dylan :: Highway 61 Revisited
I have been listening to this album on and off for almost fifteen years at this point and I still think that it is great. Bob Dylan’s version of Like a Rolling Stone is the classic one and there are a few other songs like Ballad of a Thin Man and Highway 61 Revisited that when all combined together make one of the more awesome albums that I have listened to.
This may not be the album for...

For anyone who is still out there thinking that all of this stuff between Conan and Leno is a bunch of fiction, here is the clip I would reference when I note Conan’s righteous indignation.

So number 37 on my list is Take a Spontaneous Road Trip with the family. Yesterday we did that. There are all kinds of details that I could share about how Greyson did awesome for ten hours in the car and the van tires need to be rotated and balanced so we took the Honda, but ultimately we had a great day and I got one more item checked off the list. Enjoy the video of us in the snow and a little...

Chuck Berry :: The Great Twenty-Eight
Another compilation album, another great album to listen to. It is almost a given that most of the songs on The Great Twenty-Eight are instantly familiar because Chuck Berry songs sound pretty much the same and these songs have been around for most if not all of your life. There were some pretty much automatic 5 star choices like Johnny B. Goode and Rock and Roll Music, but there were also some...

Muddy Waters :: The Anthology
So far, this has been my favorite album to review. I will note that generally I would steer away from compliation albums but when that someone is Muddy Waters and his music stretches over four decades I can make an exception. I have always had a thing for the blues it is to me a great genre that really finds a way to capture human emotion in just the music itself. You can tell the emotion of a...

Find out what I am passionate about
This one has actually been a long time coming. Recently, the combination of my wife starting one of these lists and a message at our church tipped me over the edge and I not only decided to do this list project, but I think I am finally at a point where I am comfortable putting this somewhere permanent for the whole world to ignore. Of course being me, what I am passionate about is more like a...

Finish writing my 101 list
So this one was kind of cheating and actually I finished this two or three days ago. However to make up for it I technically made my list 102 things.
Regardless, this was a really interesting process to go through. I have never really been a goal person or a list person. Both of those deficiencies I think have held me back in life because I never took the time and figured out what I wanted to be...

Bruce Springsteen :: Born to Run
So what can you really say about Born to Run? I listened to the whole thing on my way to work this morning and my first reaction is that Bruce Springsteen does country music without distorting his voice into the stereotypical twang. Also, is it just me or does Springsteen sing with a drunken slur almost the whole time? I didn’t know the main lyric of Tenth Avenue Freeze Out until I looked at the...

The Ramones :: Ramones
I have never been much of a punk kind of guy. I lean more toward the main stream popular music. That being said, it is pretty cool to listen to a whole album straight through because you can listen to a song more in context. I can’t bring myself to say that I really liked this album or that I hated it. I liked doing the air guitar of RockBand motions when I heard Blitzkreig Bop but really other...

Here is my 101 in 1001
I keep on hearing about this kind of list and it intrigues me. My wife Erin just posted hers recently and not to be outdone, I of course had to make one of my own. I am normally not a strict list person believing that generally you could finish everything on a list by the time you finish writing it all down. This is especially true of packing or cleaning in my opinion, but I digress.
Since I am...

I have watched all five seasons of Lost. I should have just watched this recap. I have thought for the last two years that this show should have ended and then maybe done a spinoff called Lost: Irrelavent Adventures with Science Fiction and this recap confirmed that belief. Also, once they decided to go back, there really ceased to be any reason to watch. They were no longer there against their...
