I wanted something to be able to use on my invoices. I havent done any kind of logo work for myself in a while so it seemed like a good time. I may make some subtle tweaks in the future, but I am happy with this version.
Ergonomic DSLR Design Concept
At first glance, I like the design of this a lot. Digital cameras do not need to look like film cameras and something like this where there are essentially two handles with controls on them looks pretty sweet. Also, just the fact that the design is way outside of the box makes it exciting to look at. Win.
However after about two seconds of thinking how I use a camera or the needs of professional photographers this comes up short.
The first thing that came to my mind is that with anything other than a 50mm fixed this thing is going to become really unbalanced. Since you now have to use two hands to hold the body and not support that giant lens there would be a ton more stress on the connection point, not even to mention how unsteady it would be. Forget keeping your elbows in. Fail.
Second is the confusing placement of the strap connections (bottom of the handles if you have trouble seeing them). I think it would end up with the lens pointing into your stomach or with the strap necessarily twisted around backwards when you lift it up. Fail.
I am by no means a professional photographer, but I use a DSLR regularly enough to recognize when something that is good looking will not work and this is an example of that.

Decisions
So the theme copy situation from the other day has been resolved to my liking. I decided that I really like this theme and to make a new header that would be consistent across all of my other websites. Also, I redirected www.danieldezago.com to point to my .mac website rather than directly to my wordpress blog.
It actually works out pretty well overall I think. I have a new design, the blog is visible in an abridged format on my .mac site, and if anyone actually reads this and clicks a link for the article, the header is consistent from one site to the other so it blends it better.
New Theme Maybe
So this is not in the list of updates that I said I was going to write. I was reading Mark Artrip’s blog and really like how he restyled the look. Very nice. That of course inspired me to take a look at the different themes available and see if there were any that jumped out at me.
Of course now that I picked a new one, I realize that I totally copied his theme. So right now I am not sure if I can keep it which would really be a shame, the side column and different sections look so much more clean and neat than my last theme. Maybe if I come up with a header that is in a different enough style then it will not be so obvious. In the mean time feel free to weigh in on this important issue. Until I decide I am going to leave my blog lame and headerless.

new look - Freshy Theme
I wanted to do this theme from the beginning but could not design an original banner that was that small. So now that I already had a banner for the bigger banner on my old theme, it was much easier to reduce and reposition existing layers.
It is highly likely that neither of my readers will care about this, but for my own preference, I think that this theme looks much nicer and is easier to work with and easier on the eyes.
First of the Day
Ok so first and foremost for today I wanted to show this watch which was featured over at Uncrate and actually looks totally hot. Nothing says Dick Tracy quite like making and receiving calls on your really cool looking watch. Throw in the bluetooth and it really becomes pretty slick. My only problem with it is that the name pretty much sucks like a Hoover. Come up with something better than Watch Phone.
Now you may be wondering why I put a whole screen grab into my own post and that would be a good question. I think that they said everything really well. So you can read what they said without another 
click and I can make my life easier by just referencing what they said in the same place. All this to say I may do this more in the future so don’t freak out. Unless of course this is against all blogging rules because I am eliminating a click back for them. I am new to this so if this is un-kosher let me know.
Anywho…this watch not only looks sick but who of you reading that was alive in the 80s didn’t want to be able to make phone calls from their watch? To bad that it took so long to come out and look good because I am kind of at a point in my life where a watch is an unnecessary luxury item. Seth Nash might jump on it but for me I will just be content to know that some dreams really do come true eventually and with no effort on my own part.

So I put up a new header. Since I think I show a total of 0 views on any of my posts chances are that no one actually saw the old one anyway. I think that I am going to keep this one for a while. There are some things that I definitely like about it and a few things that might grate on me as time goes on but overall I think it is pretty decent for about an hours worth of time. Let me know what you think.
