I wanted something to be able to use on my invoices. I havent done any kind of logo work for myself in a while so it seemed like a good time. I may make some subtle tweaks in the future, but I am happy with this version.
This was the first project that I ever attempted to do in just Photoshop and After Effects. I have always been interested in animating things in a sort of mechanical way and I think that this shows one of my earliest attempts at that. I believe that this is also the first time that I used lighting in a rendered project. It would have been great to get some more of the training on these kinds of advanced features at NYFA, but I think that teaching myself has proven invaluable in my ability to learn software.

This was used as a transition video during a Sun Valley series called Drive. The video is actually captured game play from Need for Speed Underground 2™ and the graphical look is inspired by the intro video to Burnout 3:Revenge™. I really enjoyed putting together all of the different animations and constructing all of the compositing.

This is the first video that I ever edited in Final Cut Pro using layers. I was at the New York Film Academy in 2003 and was learning a ton of the advanced features. Everything in the video was stock footage provided for the project with the exception of the song which I think has a great message when combined with this set of footage.

This is a video project that demonstrates how to install a water softening system. Although highly technical, the video allowed the manual to come to life in a way that simply reading just cannot do. All of the animations were done from scratch by hand. The finished DVD is included with every water softener system that this company sells and is fully functioning with multiple menus and chapters for each section.

I did this promotion video as part of a demo for a company to showcase my editing skills. I did everything for this video from writing the copy and branding the fake company, to directing the people involved and editing the final product. From start to finish I think this project took 48 hours and I like the way that it turned out, beat driven and a bit of the quick editing style going on. Also, it was really fun getting to play some games for a purpose.

This marketing piece for Housing Opportunities of Warsaw has been used to generate awareness of the needs of underprivileged families in Kosciusko County Indiana. The finished product, (of which this is just a portion) has been shown to the board of the United Way, the Indiana House of Representatives and the Governor of the State of Indiana. I expanded upon some of the geometric effects that I had used in earlier projects and turned it into what I think were a pretty neat intro and outro.

URA Rockstar was directly inspired by the iTunes™ commercials that were out at the time featuring the skyscrapers that were made out of music albums. The U consists of 90 different streams of pictures built in Final Cut Pro™, animated and constructed in Adobe After Effects™. All six render streams were then edited back together in Final Cut Pro™ to a beat driven sound track. This was really fun to construct and rewarding to see the final product after all the hours of rendering.
